You can also see a showcase of Ba tribe’s traditional “cry and marry” wedding ceremony. The purpose of the cry and marry ceremony is for the bride to extend gratitude to her parents and to her brothers and sisters. The bride will cry for days until the wedding day and crying is often included in the singing of special songs. It is also a belief that if the bride does not cry at the time of the wedding, the family won’t make a fortune and will be traditionally sneered at.

c. Village on the Mountain – King Ba Village

King Ba village was built around 2000 years ago when King Ba was forced to retreat to the Three Gorges Scenic Area during the warring states period with Qin.
