Diving at Pulau Perhentian Besar with Universal Diver @ Tuna Bay Resort, Terengganu, Malaysia (2017)

1st dive site – D’ Lagoon – Turtle, Blue Spotted Stingray and Baby Barracuda

2nd dive site – Batu Layar – School of Fishes and Corals

3rd dive site – Terumbu Tiga – Cave Exploration

Here comes our first diving trip at Perhentian Besar with Universal Diver @ Tuna Bay Island Resort one year after our open water course!

We decided to drive all the way from Kuala Lumpur to the nearest jetty at Kuala Besut town, then take the earliest boat transfer to Tuna Bay Island Resort the next morning.

There aren’t many options for accommodation in Kuala Besut so we settled for Samudera Hotel, which is acceptable for a transit stay. And, it is located just foot away from the Tuna Bay Island Resort’s office.

While you are at Kuala Besut, do not miss this infamous seafood restaurant – Zul Ikan Bakar, where you get to choose your own seafood from the catch of the day. Get here early as the place will be packed with crowd as soon as the stall open!

So, we took the diving package with Tuna Bay Island Resort at about MYR 1,100 per person for 4 days 3 nights package inclusive of boat transfer, stay, food, peak season surcharge and 4 dives (including scuba equipment).

Totally love our stay at the resort and the impeccable service provided. Don’t worry about having to saddle in the water upon arrival as there is a small jetty in front of the resort. The staff will also make sure that your luggage got delivered to your door steps.

The food package is awesome! Breakfast at the resort is served in buffet style and ala-carte western dish for lunch. Our stomach always rumbling in anticipation during dinner time – 5 dishes will be served (vegetable, meat, soup & seafood) and the portion is huge!
